djsosonut: I think you're getting worked up over nothing when it comes to Iwan playing Bolton. Yes, some people will like him because he's attractive, and my slash ships of him with various male characters. But the show is full of beautiful bad people: Joffery, Cersei, and Viserys They're still mostly seen as despicable characters. I think Iwan will kill with the part. He does creepy so well people might not even notice how handsome he is. A lot of people didn't see him as sexy in Misfits until series 2

these are good points, and I hope you’re right!  I know Iwan is a great actor, and there’s no doubt that he can probably be a really creepy Ramsay.  but my reaction was coming from what I’ve seen in the tags — that people are already beginning to ship Ramsay/Theon, that Ramsay is attractive, that Iwan as Ramsay would be “sexy.”

and honestly? the kind of creepy Iwan was in season 1 of misfits is exactly the kind of creepy I don’t want to see him be in Game of Thrones.  because Simon was creepy, but not really scary, while Ramsay is beyond creepy (and again — Iwan could probably pull that off).  but I’m afraid of whether D&B will let that happen, and let it be completely about Theon, who is the victim.  if it becomes more about Ramsay, some people (who might not read the books) might be confused about exactly what kind of villain Ramsay is.  in that post, I was expressing my fear of that, and it was mainly addressed to people who HAVE expressed sentiments along the lines of “omfg Iwan/Ramsay is so hot.”

also, can I just say… Ramsay is on a completely different level than Joffrey, Viserys, and Cersei (who I do consider to be a villain).  like, I think it’s possible to sympathize with Cersei and still think she’s an awful person, but the same cannot be said for Ramsay. and while I didn’t really sympathize with Joffrey or Viserys in the books, Ramsay is just ten times worse than both of them put together imo.

so yeah, you could be right, and hopefully everyone will be disgusted with him once he’s flaying people left and right, but… D&B + some people, man. I dunno.
